Our rain has turned into a slushy mess for right now. Hopefully, the roads won't get too slick. It's hovering right about 32F right now.

The sky is clear just now - not a cloud to be seen - but the forcast is for sleet and freezing rain late this evening.

Its 32 and cloudy. Winter warning was cancled and we have an advisory instead. Had sleet when I went to bed followed by a light dusting of snow.
The streets had been dry for a couple of days..............I'm with DB, I'm ready for Spring!!!!

While it will pass quickly, the pleasant part of the snowfall is swirling outside. The constant background rumble of the city is mostly muted, and the snow is pristine and white.

OK.. we are now paying for December temps being in the 40's & 50's!!!!!!!!!!! We were without power for 30 hours. Thank goodness we have a generator! Hopefully we won't lose power this round, but if we do we are prepared!
Winter weather advisory remains in effect until 3 am cst thursday, blizzard warning in effect from 6 am Thursday to 6 pm cst friday,
The NWS in des moines has issued a blizzard warning, which is in effect from 6 am Thursday to 6 pm cst friday. The blizzard watch is no longer in effect. A winter weather advisory remains in effect until 3 am cst Thursday.
A mix of freezing drizzle, sleet or snow will fall over the advisory area through the evening hours and end after midnight. The precipitation will be off and on and precipitation amounts will be light but any freezing precipitation falling over the area will only compound any remaining problems from last weekends ice storm.
The mixed precipitation will change over to snow during the morning hours Thursday. By late Thursday 5 to 9 inches of snow will fall. In addition to the snow, a very strong northwest wind will increase to 25 to 40 mph with higher gusts. This will cause blizzard conditions over the area. The blizzard conditions will persist through Friday when the wind will begin to diminish.
A blizzard warning means severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring. Falling and blowing snow with strong winds and poor visibilities are likely. This will lead to whiteout conditions, making travel extremely dangerous. Do not travel. If you must, have a winter survival kit with you. If you get stranded, stay with your vehicle.
A winter weather advisory means that periods of snow, sleet, or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.

37F under cloudy skies right now. Suppose to get up to 48F today, but with a chance of thunderstorms this morning and a wintry mix later this afternoon.
We really don't need the water right now, but at least it's not icing.

We had thunderstorms overnight here. Right now there's a little bit of rain and the temp is right at 32F. Supposedly the storm Cheyanne mentioned is going to send the snow north of where I'm located. Hoping that most of the precip is in the form of rain but it really could go either way, rain or ice. The winds still haven't let up and we've got gust up to 40 mph right now that are supposed to continue throughout the next couple of days.
But the Cubs have their first Spring Training baseball game in Arizona today so all is right with my world.

Well, the gov declared all 99 counties in Iowa disaster areas becasue of the last storm and this storm.
We are in the area to receive 14-16 inches of snow. We have power at the moment, but the electricity intermitently fluctuates off/on. I imagine we will lose power again tonight. At least we have a generator and fireplaces. I35 from Ames north has been closed as well as I80 West of Des Moines. Blizzard conditions now, we can't see past our trees at the lower end of our yard. It is kinda pretty actually - I will try and get some pictures to post later when the power fluctuations aren't an issue.
Well, I am typing this via my battery backup! Time to sign off I think so I don't damage my computer.

We are stuck in the tail end of a bit of weather that tried for a week to be a cyclone, and by the time it succeeds it will hopefully be 500 miles west of here, heading further away.
We've had about 18 inches of rain here, which is cruel when the rest of the country would sacrifice every politician they could lay their hands on to get a piece of this wet action.
Maybe two or three days yet.
