I don't think a thank-you is specifically necessary; but (if it were me) a note to say that you couldn't get your mind off that knight or that your knees were still shaking (or whatever) would have me grinning for days....and jumping the writer at the first opportunity. What a lovely thought. Must be a lucky girl.
