Actually, just looked at the weather map and it appears we may see some rain pretty soon. Rain appears to be nearing the Illinois river (about 10 miles from here) and is coming our way. I even think I hear a bit of thunder some distance off. :(

1:28am and the rains are here. Coming down pretty good right now. From the map, what had looked like a large mass of rain has dissipated some and a reasonably narrow band is passing over us now. There will, however, be more later. (We need the rain, but it'd be nice to get it in gentle showers and now thunderstorms. Oh well, Mother Nature didn't ask. :( )

Surprised me yesterday (Sunday). Didn't feel nearly as humid during the day and while warm it was not the oppressive heat we've had this month so far. Anyway, right now (10:45PM) it's 74F under mostly clear skies with humidity at 85% and the dewpoint at 68. It's only going up to 76F today but with thunderstorms. By 4AM it's suppose to be a 30% chance going up to 90% chance by 8AM and 100% by 9AM. Then it'll start to fade back a bit but will still be at 70% at 10PM Tuesday evening. Sounds like I'll have to wait to mow the lawn. Doggone it. :D

Looked at the weather map and the rain is just now reaching the Mississippi river and judging from it's eastward speed, 4AM may be a pretty good guess.

Yesterday kind of fizzled out. Rains didn't get here until around 7:30 or 8AM … and were done by 10. Rest of the day turned sunny and pleasant. Should have mowed the lawn (although without the rain, it probably didn't need it). Oh well.
