[QUOTE Rock salt sales have been great this year. LOL[/QUOTE]
making snow ice cream? |

My nephew has a remote starter for his car. Would this let you thaw the car from the inside? |
Depends. A lot of times the block itself needs to be thawed before it can be started to prevent damage to the motor. In a situation where there is that much ice build up on the outside of the car, chances are you'd have to use the blow dryer on the engine before you can attempt to start it.
|
Do batteries freeze?
|
Not sure on that. It's more than just the battery though. It's any exposed moving part. If your serpentine belt gets frozen and is not thawed you can crack or snap it. Either way you wouldn't be going anywhere.

Yes they can under certain conditions. Wasn't my battery but someone I know. Sun came out today and started drying out the roads again. Now just need that light snow on Friday to be very light. |

Yes it would and I've thought about spending the $300 but cheap out for the 2 or 3 times ice becomes a real problem each year. Normally I do give it 10-15 minutes to heat everything and makes cleaning all the windows easy.............. when I can get in easily. LOL Actually this was a different than normal snow. When the surface of everything is colder than the just barely liquid rain, that's when it freezes on contact and begins layering. Neither was this a SUPER COLD at all, so the engine starting, batteries, belts or oil reservoirs was not a problem for any normal winterized car. |
We just passed our rain record with 2 months to go in this wet season.
2.5 metres (over 8 feet in the old money). |
I hope it rains here tomorrow like it is supposed to. My garden needs it.
|
I'll dehydrate some of ours and send it across if you really need it.
|
4:06AM and all is dark.
|
Right now it tends to be either warm and sunny or cold and wet. It doesn't even have the same fun as a pussy being warm and wet.
|
It would be a nice day if the wind would stop.
|
Rest of Today
Partly sunny. Warmer with highs in the lower 80s (28C/83F). South winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. Tonight Mostly cloudy. Showers and thunderstorms...mainly after midnight. Lows in the upper 50s (14C/57F). Southwest winds 15 to 20 mph... becoming northwest 10 to 15 mph after midnight. Chance of rain 80 percent. Tuesday Showers likely. A slight chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Cooler with highs around 15C/59F. North winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 70 percent. |
Seems like we're getting one nice day followed quickly by several days of cold, rainy weather. :(
|
Good enough to ride. That's all I'm worried about.
|
The dry season's arrived.
The dragonflies were right. |
It is going to be a beautiful day. Aqua and I will be heading to the beach.

Oh? How is it the dragonflies predict what? |
Warm. Had a nice ride home from work, even though it wasn't that long.
|
It's raining, it's pouring, I bet Oldfart was snoring...........LOL.

Too bad that wasn't from today. It's pouring rain here right now. *sigh* |
Rain?
In Seattle? Pictures at eleven! |
The rain is falling mainly on the plain, with flash flood warnings. We've had between 5 and 7 inches just this week and it is only tuesday. It is one of the wettest Aprils in history for us and April is a rainy month in these parts.
|
Only 20% chance of rain for us today. I'm going to ride while I can.
|
Suppose to be mainly sunny today but with a high only near 59F. Possible shower this evening.
|
It went from warm and sunny riding weather back to being 40 F in the morning. This sucks.
|
Currently 13.7C/56.7F. Projected high of 19.4C/67F. "Normal" high temperature for this area/time of year, 22.2C/72F. Sunny, UV intensity 8 on a scale of 16, pollen 10.2 on a scale of 12 for maple, cedar/juniper & ash.
|
51F right now under cloudy skies. High today in the lower seventies with rain predicted this afternoon and evening. In fact, temps will be rising in the mid/upper 80s this week with rain expected on three of next five days. Poor rivers are full and we don't need any more rain for a while. Wish we could give some to west Texas. :(
|
63 and a lot of fricken rain to add to the already flooding in some parts here. It hailed twice within minutes and there is a sea of snowballs floating around and piled outside the door. The thunder and lighting finally stopped, they were not kidding when they said stay away from the window. I was blind for a few seconds.
|
OMG this Aussie is freezin'! Current temp 5.4C but feels like 1.5C and it only got a few degrees warmer all day! WTF??
|
Global warming.
(ducks for cover and giggles) |
Global warming my ass!
The friggin earths heater is broke!! |
Right now it's 77F under clear skies, but there is a chance of T-storms today and tomorrow and Monday. Bah! Humbug!
Glad we haven't had the severe flooding that many places have but the rains are still getting to be a pain in the buttinski and hot, humid temps aren't any fun, either. :( |
18 days of100+ heat yesterday it was 110 today a cool 104. Next week calling for 102+ .Onthe upside I haven't had to mow since the last week of May

Just pretend you're back in Vegas. We'll see if we can borrow Lil's mum to help with the illusion. |
We've got just about the same temp and high humidity as PF ... but does that bother us?
You bet your sweet patooties it does. :( |
