I fucking protest the weather here. Woke up to no water; all the pipes in the neighborhood are frozen. Mr. AZRH went out with the hairdryer to discover the broken pipe. Ooooh...a rainbow! Ours is not the only geyser I saw today. 31 degrees on the way to a whopping 38.

IN ARIZONA.

Now, we're pretty lucky compared to most. The electricity is on and the furnace is running. The roads are clear and there's food and (now) drinking water in the fridge. But we desert rats are ill prepared for weather like this.

Lord Snow 02-03-2011 04:36 PM

So is Tennessee. Look at it this way....at least you have someone to keep you warm.

AZRedHot 02-03-2011 04:46 PM

It's a big bed, Lord Snow. There's room for you, too. ;)

Lord Snow 02-03-2011 10:42 PM

AZ, I don't share my toys well.....Only child SINdrome and all that. :D

Oldfart 02-04-2011 02:45 AM

I can see Mr AzRH meekly accepting exile from the sandpit.

sodaklostsoul 02-04-2011 07:33 AM

Its 21, school is back on after 2 days off. Some towns around us are still taking today off from school. We had a blizzard with I think I read a foot of snow. Its piled up everywhere.

gekkogecko 02-04-2011 10:26 AM

Warmer here today than it was yesterday...will go up to a high of 38F/3C. Possible icing tonight, rain tomorrow. Should finish melting the remaining snow/ice from a few days ago.

dicksbro 02-04-2011 06:21 PM

It reached the low twenties today but no snow. I've got myself a cold and so basically stayed inside except for a quick trip to the "dollar" store for some cold medicine.

I guess more snow is expected Sunday and Monday. Hopefully, now too much.

sodaklostsoul 02-10-2011 01:34 PM

Its 17 but wind is blowing again so its COLD!!!!! Partly sunny. :)

Lord Snow 02-10-2011 04:43 PM

It snowed last night. Watching everyone get stuck in the ditch was funny.

Scarecrow 02-10-2011 09:43 PM

Todays tempeture range was -4 to 17F. Have not seen freezing point in over a week. Saturday it is suppose to get to 35F

jay-t 02-10-2011 10:06 PM

Last nite we set all time record lows across the state form -31 in the north to -5 in the south.todays high was 14. 7 day forcast shows 75 next wed.

Oldfart 02-11-2011 12:29 AM

Isn't it early for the spring thaw?

Lord Snow 02-11-2011 06:28 AM

It's weather by Sybill. LOL.

Oldfart 02-11-2011 09:23 AM

Don't look at me, I even missed the groundhog burgers in Punxsutawney.

gekkogecko 02-11-2011 02:29 PM

Warm weekend coming up. Seasonal for this area is typuically 7-8 C (mid-40s F); supposed to get up to around 11 C (51-52 F).

Hey, if you dont' like the weather around here, wait five minutes. It will change.

AZRedHot 02-13-2011 02:11 AM

'Twas gorgeous out today. I spent too long in the yard and cooked my brain, and I think I even have a bit of sunburn. Ah, spring...I've been waiting for you!

Lord Snow 02-13-2011 08:31 AM

It's getting there for us here in Tennessee. This week is supposed to be mid to upper 50's during the day, then dropping back down to the freezing mark at night. Kind of sucks since I can ride in the 50's, but not the 30's.

sodaklostsoul 02-13-2011 09:40 AM

Instead of 11 or 14 we have 35 and sunny. :)

Gonna wash the car, hope it don't fall apart.

sodaklostsoul 02-13-2011 04:16 PM

43 and didn't get around to washing car.

Oldfart 02-14-2011 07:44 PM

My car is currently being washed, I just hope not away.

We have a weather system with 40mph+ winds and driving rain over us at the moment.

It's expected to drift out to sea, grow into a cyclone and perhaps come calling again.

24.4C, 95% humidity.

It's now a Cyclone, by name of Carlos.

Even before he was a cyclone, he did this.

Lord Snow 02-16-2011 06:17 AM

Impressive as only the forces of nature can be.

sodaklostsoul 02-16-2011 10:34 AM

Naughty Carlos, take care OF.

Its 43 partly sunny and melting.

dicksbro 02-16-2011 10:38 AM

How do we know that OF wasn't just leaning against his neighbor's tree and is trying to blame it on poor Carlos? :D

JK

Do take care, OF. Out temps are about the same Soda and the sun is shining bright here, too. The ol' snow is disappearing in a hurry. Couple more days of warmer temps might just do it in.

Lord Snow 02-16-2011 04:49 PM

It's finally hitting the 60's F during the day, so riding weather is almost here. I have to wash and wax the bike sometime soon, but I've already made sure she starts and everything else is in working order.

pinkFlames 02-17-2011 10:14 PM

Pouring down and windy today.

PantyFanatic 02-19-2011 11:00 AM

Yesterday we got to see all of the ground for the first time this month. Back down to freezing again but was a nice tease.

motorhomemale 02-19-2011 02:22 PM

Nice and warm here!

Lord Snow 02-19-2011 03:44 PM

It's chilled off a bit, but that's partly because of possible rain moving in. Should be back up into the 60's soon.

gekkogecko 02-19-2011 04:46 PM

Hm, last week it hit 70s F (~21 to 23 C) on several days: upcoming, the high Tuesday is supposed to be 36 F (~3 C). Yeah, it's DC, and it's late February.

GusAspar 02-19-2011 05:07 PM

Mild and drizzly in London today - but I hear they had heavy snow in the Peak District.

sodaklostsoul 02-20-2011 12:03 AM

23 suppose to snow/winter crap tomorrow/Monday. Fine, just get it out of the way for next Friday.

dicksbro 02-20-2011 05:36 AM

36F with light rain right now. Suppose to reach 57F today ... but with showers every now and then. Tomorrow, reality sets back in (although not too bad). They're predicting 39F for a high on Monday.

sodaklostsoul 02-20-2011 12:19 PM

35 was clear one minute and pouring down sleet the next. :(

sodaklostsoul 02-20-2011 01:44 PM

That^^^^^ lasted like 30 minutes and then switched to snow. Lots of snow, big flakes and coming down hard. :(

We had a taste of spring and then back to winter. :(

Right now it's -11C (16F) which should keep the 1/4" of ice that's encapsulated EVERYTHING adhering like barbicels. The 2 days of above freezing we had last week was great until the rain started at the same time the temp came back to seasonable.

5059- The big issue with ice is it's weight on power lines and tree branches.

5065- A 1/2" crown of ice on the steps doesn't thrill the mailman.

5066- Rock salt sales have been great this year. LOL

5067- Driving on the ice isn't an issue until after you get into your car.

5069- Don't keep the ice scraper in the trunk. ;)

5071- Remember to park close enough to an electric outlet that the hairdryer can reach.
