Four Sigma Xi fraternity brothers in their last year, considered a well-deserved road party just before finals. Being pretty sharp guys and confident about the years work, all agreed.

After all getting totally trashed far in excess of attentions, they wake up on Monday morning and realize they were so late that the final exam was going to be missed. Late that afternoon they approach their professor with a well concocted story about having major tire trouble and unable to get back in time. With thought, the professor concedes to giving a make-up test the next morning.

At 9:00 am the professor puts each student in a separate room with the following test form.

THIS TEST WILL CONSIST OF TWO ESSAY QUESTIONS WHICH WILL DETERMIN YOUR FINAL GRADE FOR THE YEAR.

QUESTION (1) [for 5% of the test score]
Explain the principle of spectrum analyses as used in the element identification of stellar composition.

QUESTION (2) [for 95% of the test score]
Which tire?
