43F under mostly cloudy skies right now. It's suppose to get up to 57F today but with thunderstorms. :( In fact, including today, 6 of the next eight days have rain predicted. :(

April showers bring may flowers, storms to start here in the late afternoon hours.

IowaMan 04-10-2008 03:20 PM

It's 43F (6.1C) and cloudy here right now. It's been very windy all day and we've had well over an inch of rain so far. Almost all of the snow has finally melted in the ditches. :cheerlead

dicksbro 04-10-2008 04:20 PM

Right now, 63F under cloudy skies. It's been raining all day and there is a flash flood watch out for our area. Chance of more rain tonight and ... can you believe it ... by the weekend there's a chance for SNOW showers.

Oldfart 04-10-2008 04:42 PM

We are drifting into heaven, THE DRY!!

sodaklostsoul 04-10-2008 06:07 PM

Rain Rain Rain

Scarecrow 04-10-2008 06:46 PM

More rain, rain, rain and now a flash flood watch is in effect.

jay-t 04-10-2008 09:32 PM

We had 4 to 6 inches of rain last nite ,then today winds 35 to 40mph with gusts to 50mph.The horses water trough was even white capping!

scotzoidman 04-10-2008 10:53 PM

Windy all day today, made for an interesting highway trip out of town :yikes:

Now all that stuff that's been hammering you guys in the midwest is drawing a bead on the mid south tonight...

sodaklostsoul 04-10-2008 11:30 PM

2 days ago south of us had a F1 tornado come thru.

It can keep raining as long as it don't snow, I already put my winter coat in the hall closet.

Yep, I can definitely relate. This afternoon I was out on the highway and needed to use my wipers after a semi passing the other direction sprayed me. I decided to use the washer fluid and the wind was blowing so damn hard that the fluid that should have hit the windshield in front of me landed on the passenger's side of the windshield instead.

dicksbro 04-11-2008 02:17 AM

59F under partly cloudy skies. Expected to reach 62F today with a small chance of some rain. Come Saturday, the high is only expected to be 39F with rain and snow. :(

Not to one-up you or anything, but I once had a gust of crosswind hit my van so hard that it lifted the wipers off the windshield AND simultaniously pushed the whole vehicle about a foot to one side...as close as I've ever come to shitting myself while driving...

Today's weather was quite scary, tornado warnings all over the midstate, & typically for a Friday, I was out in it. When I decided to call it a day & was heading home on the interstate (hoping to beat the worst of it), the rain came down so hard & fast wipers were of no use at all, visibilty was approximately my windshield + 1 ft.

wyndhy 04-11-2008 08:43 PM

it's raining
it's pouring
the old man is snoring
he went to bed
and bumped his head
and couldn't get up in the morning:p

dicksbro 04-12-2008 04:02 AM

37F with light rain. We're suppose to get some rain/snow mix today with a high of only 39F. What happened to spring? :(

osuche 04-12-2008 04:23 AM

Today it was about 80F and sunny, with a nice breeze. We also had the most gorgeous sunset - it looked like Sedona in the sky. :) I really wish I had my camera with me....was the most gorgeous thing I've seen in a very long time.

Scarecrow 04-12-2008 10:28 AM

38F and rain, what did happen to spring

IowaMan 04-12-2008 10:32 AM

Hey everybody, looks like there's going to be a party at osuche's house! :loveshowe

That oughta teach her to throw that beautiful weather in our poor, cold midwestern faces.

dicksbro 04-15-2008 06:31 AM

32F right now but expected to get up to 63F today and almost 70F tomorrow. Problem is that it's going to be very windy ... 20-35 mph over the two day with gusts over 40. :( Then rain on Thursday. :(

Oldfart 04-15-2008 07:03 AM

Yes, there's weather. It's still hot and sticky, but not quite as bad as just gone.

Pita 04-16-2008 06:40 AM

It's 33 freaking degrees and there is ice on my car!!

Neige 04-16-2008 05:01 PM

It's gorgeously beautiful : 18 C right now (65-ish for you Americans)!!!!!!!

And yes, PF... It was a skirt day! :D

IowaMan 04-16-2008 05:52 PM

It's 74F here right now, 23-ish for ya up there Neige. :p

Very windy though............. /me thinks it would be a really great day for Neige to be here wearing her skirt. :D

wyndhy 04-16-2008 08:04 PM

it was georgeous today. sunny, upper sixties. great day to play

Neige 04-17-2008 05:35 PM

It was 28 C here about an hour ago. (That's 82 F.) It's down to 23 now... but wow, it's some nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

dicksbro 04-18-2008 04:05 AM

60F under mostly cloudy skies. Suppose to rain later today, tonight, and, again tomorrow. Then nice on Sunday through Tuesday with highs in the low to mid 70s.

wyndhy 04-18-2008 07:36 AM

it's gonna be 81 today! happy friday! (or saturday:D)

dicksbro 04-18-2008 06:17 PM

61F and raining. Actually didn't get much rain until this afternoon, so it didn't affect my going for a walk this morning. Glad for that.

scotzoidman 04-19-2008 12:51 AM

Nice partly cloudy day, with a little wind, but as the sun went down turned to a driving rain (that I had to go out in, & got soaked)...

And then, of course, there was this little earthquake in the early hours that I managed to sleep thru, but I did hear & feel an aftershock late morning...didn't realize what it was until the wife told me about the trembler later...

IowaMan 04-25-2008 07:53 AM

Lots of rain, and a little bit of hail, here right now. Looks like we've got a severe thunderstorm warning out for my county right now.

We've had over two inches of rain here since yesterday afternoon. :yikes:

Rhiannon 04-25-2008 07:54 AM

its gorgeous and sunny here. send the rain here. i just put in a garden and need the rain

dicksbro 05-23-2008 08:04 AM

It hasn't started raining yet, but I can hear thunder in the distance. I think it's only a matter of time.

(I just heard on the news that up to a foot of snow is expected in part of Arizona!!! :yikes: )

dicksbro 05-23-2008 08:32 AM

The rain has started.

dicksbro 05-24-2008 05:33 AM

49F under fair skies right now. It's expected to reach 75F today with sunny skies. :)

IowaMan 05-25-2008 06:34 PM

79F and very muggy here right now. :(

There are tornadoes flying around a little bit to the north of here. Apparently there is one that has been on the ground near Waterloo for quite some time. They are reporting that it is at least a half mile wide with winds in excess of 150 mph. Looks like it is going to stay north of here though.

The bad news is that there's a storm forming in the south central part of Iowa now that apparently is going to produce tornadoes as well and it should be on path to be in this part of the state in a few hours.

dicksbro 05-26-2008 04:23 AM

66F with thunderstorms in the area. We had a pretty good one within the hour, but, it's calmed down for now. Expecting more today with highs in the upper 70s. Kind of makes our picnic plans a bit tenuous.

dicksbro 05-30-2008 03:08 PM

Rain, Rain, and more Rain. My guess is that we easily exceeded two inches in the last hour and half and probably more than three. We're still under a tornado watch until 10PM our time (about seven more hours).

Scarecrow 05-30-2008 07:45 PM

Just got a tornado warning for the next 45min. One was spotted on the ground 25 miles to the west of me. Tornado sirens are just now going off.

Scarecrow 05-30-2008 08:22 PM

OK just got the all clear from that tornado warning, so we are just under a thunderstrom warning until 9pm local

dicksbro 05-31-2008 05:24 AM

Fortunately, things went pretty well here. Lots of rain (2-3" is my guess) but the worst concerns (hail and tornados) passed us by. This morning its 64F under fair skies with sunshine and a high of 84F predicted. Bit warm for me, but still a good looking day ahead of us.
