Seems fitting on this Memorial Day weekend that we remember another Great American. This icon has set the standard and model for American men, and men everywhere, for decades and will for many years in the future.

:bump: :bump:
We always knew Marion Robert Morrison was an image to be proud of as an American in his professional and private life as well. After taking a look lately, the images of our country and it's leaders as seen by the other 95%+ world population, we've lost a LOT of standing. :o

Hmm. I always enjoyed his films, but he wasn't all that, really.
Bit of a racist, to put it mildly, and seems like he could really carry a grudge!
Still, a whole lot better than what currently passes as 'First Gentleman' I'd say!! :)

I agree DM, but sadly, I honestly can't think of an another image from our lifetime that brings any icon to mind other than that. It was a nice simple black & white world where there could only be a good and bad and the good always was the winner. Not like the reality of life ever really was or is today, 21st century news/information in our face a bit more real than the 'history' we were taught and actually believed. :banghead:
I like to think that's part of why all of us became PIXIES and truly shared our personal dreams, experiences and loves in a world away from bullshit.:faint:
So give us an image/person/reality to celebrate and I'll drink to that with you.
