I use Windows ME on my laptop. Every time I go to use it I successfully log on to my username using a password. Like most of us out there, I have personal stuff on my laptop. I'm very careful where I choose to store items. Basically, I wanna create a copy of my username and settings and rename it, so that, after a deleting a few files etc, other people who use my laptop can use it. I know there is the "Guest" option but surely there must be some other way...?
To quote someone else who seems to know his stuff:
"Microsoft considered and intended (Win Me) to be used only as a "home" system"
Win Me was never intended to be used as a workstation on a corporate or other network solely on home peer to peer networks with the result that there is no Microsoft support for what you are trying to achieve. I'm sorry but you are
basically on your own here and will have to use Google to see how others have resolved the problem. Crazy I know but that's MS for you."
You might consider trading to a diferent flavor of Win. WinME doesnt seem to have that tool available. The other flavors have group policy editors which enable just what you are longing for.
sorry

Win XP will give you that functionality. Microsoft is going to drop support for ME before too long, anyway.

Either win2000 or winXP will do what Ryan^2 is looking to do. As for ME going unsupported soon, they were going to drop win98 a few months ago and changed their mind due to the existent install base of the OS. We are still at least a year or two away before ME goes unsupported (see the MS website (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;[LN];LifeAn1) for more details).
However, if it was up to me if I had to choose between ME and 98SE it would be the later, more stable (scary thought, eh?)

With WinME just take it out and shout so it will not be in missery any more.
