Absolutely! If I had to choose one film that I'd say was my favorite film of all time, it'd be the Matrix. So...I have high hopes for this one. :)

I believe it is our fate to be here. It is our destiny. I believe this night holds, for each and every one of us, the very meaning of our lives. This is a war and we are soldiers. What if tomorrow the war could be over? Isn't that worth fighting for? Isn't that worth dying for?

I'm going to let the crowds thin ... then my wife and I will go.

Tomorrow's our big day! 43rd meeting anniversary, so we'll do the dinner thing and find some other ways to entertain ourselves.

Oh, yeah, met on a blind date and it stuck. She musta been blind and I was her date. No seriously, we did meet on a blind date and went to a movie. Hmmmm. Maybe we do need to go. :D

Hey Aqua, how do you see it on the 14th when it's released on the 15th? You special or something?

Heard some really good things about this movie on TV today, from those who got a pre-screening yesterday! Also....and hope this isn't ruining anything....but the love story is intensified in this one. I'm sure that doesn't mean "chick flick" though....not from the trailers I saw! I so wish I were going too! Someone call my house and tell hubby he's won tickets and has to use them tonight or lose them! TeeHee! If it were only that easy. He's shown an interest.......but he still hasn't taken my hints. And.......he still doesn't think I should go with a date (only know a few guys who are going and none of my girlfriends want to go).....since we're married now and all. I'd like to see, on that marriage license, where it says I can't date anymore!

Well.......have a great time tonight ya'll! And if you can stand it.....don't tell me EVERYTHING about it. I still might have a chance before it comes out on video!

I really want to go as well, but I've got a mountain of things to get done before graduation...I will be going out Thursday night for a celebratory graduation dinner, but alas not to TMR...once things slow down at my place, I think I'll be taking my kid brother.

I JUST heard my brother come home from a 10 pm showing.
No spoilers, PLEASE.

But, was there any signifigant reason to do a 10 pm "night before" showing instead of midnight (as with say, Star Wars, LOTR, etc).

They call it an "Anticipation Move Up" dadaist....They do that when they see the potential for moving it up a day or in this case 2 hours of doing a few million more in ticket sales. The most famous of this that I can remember was Independence Day...It ended up opening 2 days early....

Didn't get to go ... was it a thumbs up or a thumbs down?

Let see the movies say thumbs up is good but the Romans said thumbs down was good. Dang. Still won't know. :(

I loved it. Eros had some valid points in my albino thread.. they could have done a bit more intoduction to new characters but overall I think the film was great. I want to see it again this weekend if possible.

I went to see it last night (thursday) im in the minority because I only thought the first film was ok, but this one in my opinion kicked MAJOR ASS! The special effects topped the first film which is hard to believe, the story was a bit confusing at times and one part REALLY confused me because they cut it together quickly because the film was running long. On a scale of 1 to 10 i would give it a 12

Aqua, my main beef, other than the character thing, was that when Neo is talking to the Architect....some of that conversation was either over my head, or I wasn't paying enough attention (had a bad headache when I went.) I understood alot of it..but some of it seemed like gibberish to me. Any ideas?

Lilith
05-15-2003, 11:03 PM
Eros~ I just returned and the architect part has me thrown off too. The world is created, man has free will, and his free will affects all of the world??????

Or was it just a ploy to sell TVs?????????????????

Santiago

i dont care about the architect part, what part got me was when they stepped off the ship and the sentinels came...etc etc.

dont want to blow the movie for those that havent seen it, but if anyone knows why that happened then PM me.

ps: it rocked my socks

Just got back from seeing it, I thought it kick ass and was a worthy sequel to the first one. The architect part I kind of got it hits off a small part from the first one. Where agent smith is talking with morpheus and tells him the first matrix created, was to perfect and that the human mind rebelled against it. But that was the only part of the whole scene that I recognized. What blew my mind was the discovery about the origin of the oracle. At least now we know why she knows what is going to happen before it does.

We plan to go tonight and I will pay special attention to the architect part :D

Skip says it rocked....I loved listening to the architect part, thought it gave tons of info....life is a big circle....and the previews of revolutions gave a glimpse of what the one means.

Lilith

ok yay I got that too!

Scarecrow

Just got back from seeing it. I did understand the architech scene(did he or didn't he) and waiting more impationly for part 3. It was worth staying for the scenes from the revolutions.

I just got back from seeing it and it totally rocked! I HAVE to see it again. There was so much happening all at once that I didn't get to look at everything.
I got what the architect was saying too. I listened very carefully since some of you said you didn't understand it. I tried not to be distracted by the other images behind him.

this show rocked. i loved the fight scenes, the scenes in the city were hot. i loved every minute of it. trinity even knows linux. but i guess that is a given scince in the first movie she is depicted as a ex-hacker.

Oh and another big thing that is blowing me away. I d-loaded the soundtrack today, cause I thought it was great...the best song on their is the Dave Mathews tune..it is unlike anything he has ever done and awesome.

I saw it again on Saturday and one of the things i thought was interesting was during the Architect scene when he starts talking about building the matrix around the mistakes of humanity or whatever and on the tv's they show all the war and violence the last clip they showed when i first saw it (wednesday) was of George W. Bush (or President George W. Jackass as I call him) but when i saw it saturday it was replaced with Elder President Bush. I thought that was interesting. Did anyone else notice that? Plus Monica Belluci is SO FUCKING GORGEOUS!!!!! The Marovingian is a MORON for cheating on her! Neo is the man, he gets to bang Carrie-Anne Moss and make out with Monica Belluci!!!!!!
